Aroma: On the nose, notes of poached pears, honey, ripe cherries, and dark fruit develop first. They are followed by roasted almonds, a subtle hint of cranberry, milk or dark chocolate, delicate coffee, and a subtle touch of sweet spices.
Taste: The palate is full, fruit-rich, and well-rounded. Notes of dark chocolate, cherries, Turkish honey, stewed fruit, plums, apricots, caramel, and a hint of cinnamon are present. The higher alcohol content gives it a more pronounced structure, and the Amarone casks add wine-like depth and a pleasant fruit intensity.
Finish: The finish is medium-long to long, soft, fruit-sweet, and slightly dry. In the aftertaste, dark fruit, chocolate, delicate spice, oak, and a pleasant wine tannin character remain.
