Appearance: Wine of intense ruby color with violet hues. The legs on the rim of the glass indicate a medium-full body and promise a drinkable wine.
Aroma: The bouquet is pleasant and evokes small forest fruits, especially blackberries, as well as red currants, which are soon joined by balsamic notes of mint and eucalyptus. Spices emerge in the background, most notably green pepper, and a strong mineral base is also suggested.
Taste: Harmonious on the palate, with very smooth tannins, yet still fresh.
Conclusion: Merlot Kristalvin is a good companion to dishes with tomato sauce, grilled poultry, spit-roasted lamb, "fifth quarter" dishes (tripe, liver, kidneys), as well as stews with freshwater fish and medium-aged hard cheeses.
