Château Marsau Rouge 2018 is considered an excellent Bordeaux winemaking achievement: exceptional Merlot structure, intense fruity character, and elegant minerality – it is often described as the "Pétrus of Côtes de Francs." The wine is made from 100% Merlot, and the grapes were in their first year of conversion to organic production. Fermentation takes place with native yeasts, without added sulfur, and aging lasts 20 months in French barrels. Production is limited, ensuring high quality and a pronounced terroir. An excellent choice for aging or enjoying on special occasions.

Appearance: Medium to dark ruby color with an intense glow. Medium to full-bodied; clear and well-saturated structure.

Aroma: Aromatically rich profile: ripe dark berries (cherries, blackberries, cassis), together with complex notes of chocolate, coffee, and spices, plus a subtle earthy undertone. An elegant, aromatic nose with hints of vanilla and coffee.

Palate: Dry, medium to full-bodied with fine, structured tannins. The fruitiness is concentrated; fresh acidity with a mineral-spiced emphasis. The flavor adds notes of black olive, spiced wood, and a saline minerality.

Finish: Long-lasting, balanced finish: the fruitiness rounds out into bittersweet spices, followed by a gradual development of mineral and coffee nuances. Recommended drinking between 2022 and 2025; the wine is also suitable through 2028.
