Penfolds RWT Shiraz is an exceptional wine from a single region, the Barossa Valley, where it matures exclusively in French oak. It was created as an alternative to the traditional multi-regional sourcing and maturation in American oak, characteristic of Grange. The name RWT stands for "Red Winemaking Trial," as the project began in 1995 and was first presented in 2000 with the 1997 vintage. The wine is distinguished by a rich and fleshy style, which differs from the more muscular and assertive Grange. Penfolds RWT Shiraz is synonymous with elegance, complexity, and top quality.
