Appearance: Dark amber-golden color with a reddish-brown tint. The viscosity is medium-thick, leaving slow “tears” down the glass.
Aroma: Distinct Lagavulin smoke, but this time nicely balanced with sweet notes of raisins, dried plums, dark chocolate, and woody balm. There are also hints of sea spray, leather, and well-aged, harmonized wood.
Palate: Full-bodied, warm, and silky. In the forefront are notes of dried fruit (figs, dates), black tea, cedarwood, and sweet smoke. The alcohol is perfectly integrated, with a clear balance between sweetness and saltiness. Notes of coffee, nuts, and balsamic depth also appear.
Finish: Very long, dry, and complex. Sherry, smoke, and brown-spice notes linger. The finish develops in layers, with a slight mineral trace and sea salt.
