Appearance: Dark ruby to garnet color with a pronounced sheen; clear and highly saturated structure.
Aroma: The nose is complex and intense: prominent notes of sour cherries (amarena), dark chocolate, sweet spices (vanilla, cinnamon), a subtle floral component of rose, balsamic undertones, star anise, and menthol mint. In the background, aromas of coffee, sweet tobacco, and light smokiness appear.
Taste: Dry and full-bodied with a rich fruit profile (amarena, dark berries), ripe tannin structure, high acidity (~7.5 g/L), pronounced extract (~40 g/L), and a mineral accent. The taste also includes notes of anise, tobacco, and chocolate, all nicely balanced.
Finish: The finish is long, robust, and harmonious, with aromas of chocolate, spices, and fruity sweetness lingering into a pleasant warmth. Optimal drinking: 2014–2024, but the wine can age beautifully until 2030.
